Baby Samuel

Well, after 30 hours of labor (give or take - 17ish hours in the birthing center, 13ish at the hospital) and an eventual C-section, Samuel joined the world on 11/12/10 at 6:59PM, weighing in at 7lb., 8 oz., 20 1/2 inches long. And please forgive me if I don't post more right away. Due to blood loss and a lot of pain meds, I ended up getting a chest x-ray, an EKG, labwork, and 2 units of blood last night for problems with excessive, uncontrollable anxiety and an elevated heart rate and low oxygen saturations. Fun times! I'm feeling better but am still rather tired today! I'll keep you updated eventually - I promise!

  2. love you. Love him. Can't wait to meet him. But I promise it won't be too soon..because I come with a gaggle. And I know you won't be ready for a gaggle soon. Enjoy his soft, sweet head. I miss that. Mine little heads all just smell like dirt-loving, hard-playing girls...which isn't nearly as sweet. All my love! Call if you need a friendly voice.

  3. I am so insanely happy for you. He's a beautiful little boy. But then again, I had no doubt he would be. :)

I understand the uncontrollable anxiety. I had it post-partum with both of mine. Just take care of yourself and let others help. It makes a world of difference.

Love you and wish I could give you a great big hug right now!
